Dr. Mihir Herlekar is an experienced academic and researcher with over 14 years in the field of Environmental Science. He earned his Ph.D. in Botany from the University of Mumbai and is recognized for his expertise in Environmental Monitoring, Pollution Control, Sustainable Development, and Environmental Nanotechnology.

  • National Environmental Engineering Research Institute (NEERI), Mumbai (2006-2010): Dr. Herlekar contributed to key environmental monitoring projects, working on air, water, and soil analysis, and collaborating with government agencies like CPCB and MoEF&CC.
  • National Institute of Industrial Engineering (NITIE), Mumbai (2017-2018): He was involved in research projects on sustainable wastewater treatment and decentralized systems, contributing valuable insights through research articles and funding proposals.

Academic Contributions:

Dr. Herlekar has been teaching at the Institute of Science, Mumbai, since 2018. He leads courses on Environmental Pollution, Climate Change, and Sustainable Practices, and actively mentors students in dissertation projects.

Her research tries to bridge academic theory with practical application, focusing on consumer behavior and the profitability of sustainability initiatives.

CSR and Tribal Area Experience:

Before her current roles, Jogitha worked extensively in the social sector, particularly in CSR initiatives aimed at improving livelihoods in tribal areas. As a Program Manager at RightArm Public Service Platform and Project Coordinator at Nareshwadi Learning Centre, Somaiya Trust, she led projects focused on women-centric initiatives in the Warli tribal region of Maharashtra. Her work involved developing sustainable agriculture practices, coordinating with local communities, and managing donor relations to ensure the success of these initiatives.
